We truly love our clients (cont.)…

posted September 18th, 2009 in Graphic Design by jillharding

We at Boundless Design truly love our clients and greatly value our relationships with them all. BD knows that working with an organization such as ours for the first time often prompts a few questions. Sometimes more than a few concerns, too. How successful will we be in interpreting your needs? How can we do it most effectively? How can we do it most efficiently? How much will it cost?

Since we begun June 1, 2007 we have had the great fortune in growing many long lasting relationships with our clients. We appreciate our clients greatly because let’s face it — if it were not for them BD would not exist. Thank you to all of our clients as we truly love you all and appreciate our relationship with you.

Recently several of our clients have showered us with a few gifts to show their appreciation to us at BD. Blabber Duckie would like to share these with you…

BD from Bryan Taylor

BD from Bryan Taylor

BD recently had the great fortune of meeting Bryan Taylor with Roberts Advertising, LLC. Bryan and BD has a mutual client. BD created the logo (branding) and a few other pieces for a client of ours in Bloomington, Indiana. Bryan emails us asking if we could help with this client and supply Roberts Advertising with artwork. The partner relationship began. Later on that same month we emailed Bryan, we then met him in person at a Bloomington Rainmaker lunch event. So naturally Bryan and BD chatted a bit and we begun to understand each others’ businesses a bit more. Bryan asked about Blabber Duckie so I explained and he checked it out. BD sees Bryan the next month and to our surprise Bryan has 5 rubber duckies for us that have the Blabber Duckie url pad printed onto the actual ducks. We are very thankful and were wowed by Bryan’s kind gesture. We truly appreciate working with Bryan at Roberts Advertising. Thanks Bryan!

BD has known Derek Perry owner of Perry & Sons for more than 25 years. Recently, we have been doing several projects with this amazing client which is very rewarding since we are also such close friends. Our strong friend relationship makes working together very exciting and extremely fun. BD most recently designed t-shirts for Derek and his crew to wear that also match his yard signage, permanent yard sign and truck decals (Steve Scalph, Sign Here, LTD.). Derek had a few extra t-shirts screen-printed for BD to show his appreciation. Thanks Derek!

BD Role Playing - Thanks Kyle!

We at BD recently had a house guest stay with us. Kyle Siegfred the new youth minister at First Christ Church of Morgantown stayed with us while he and his family were making the transition from Missouri to Indiana. We got the opportunity to learn more about Kyle and his family and their background. The reverse also happened and Kyle got to learn more about BD and what we do. The relationship began…and Kyle asked us to help him with a logo clean-up need for the church youth ministry and advise on the “Crash” Student Ministries website. Kyle also shared BD’s skills and our talents with other church leaders which has opened the door for us to do more projects. The above 4 “role playing rubber duckies” are compliments of Kyle and truly were a fun surprise to receive. Thanks Kyle!

A Day of Inspiration…

Recently Blabber Duckie headed to the IMA [ Indianapolis Museum of Art ] for a great day of well needed inspiration. While arriving I discovered that the IMA offers free parking, free admission and free WiFi - wow what a great place.

The IMA also has several sculptures outside plus breath taking gardens [ Ravine Garden, Formal Garden, Allée + Border Gardens, The Orchard and Winter at Oldfields — Lilly House & Gardens ]. Above Blabber Duckie is perched on the number three which is a huge, colorful sculpture that rests on the IMA grounds. The rays from the mid day sun shined down creating an amazing display of nature’s beauty when cast on man made art.

The IMA also brought back a few memories for Blabber Duckie. When I was at IU [Bloomington, IN ] studying Stuio Arts [ concentrating in Graphic Design ] – we had to design/create a cardboard chair that could hold 220 pounds. We could only use three sheets of cardboard [ six feet by four feet ] and hot glue. Believe it or not – cardboard, when properly used can be extremely strong. This was a great project experience which also taught me a lot as a designer as it is very important to plan and prepare before actually beginning with the materials. So needless to say I was wowed when I saw the above cardboard chair at the IMA.

Blabber Duckie wrapped up the day of inspiration by visiting the “LOVE Sculpture” – Robert Indiana. Mr. Indiana created this sculpture in a time when the United States of America was consumed by the Vietnam War. “LOVE” became a symbol for peace during trying times. This famous sculpture is one of the most celebrated works within the pop art movement as well the art world as a whole.

If you find that a little [ free ] inspiration is needed Blabber Duckie strongly encourages you to make a visit to the IMA. You might be very surprised how uplifting and educational your experience will be.

Ever Wonder Why Some Businesses Succeed & Others Don’t

posted September 3rd, 2009 in Graphic Design by jillharding

Have you ever stopped and wondered why some businesses succeed and other businesses do not? In most cases, businesses that do succeed is often due in part thanks to their leader. Successful leaders do not have a “magic button” but they look forward and have a vision plus practice these five steps. The five crucial steps to a great leader : 1. Establish Clear Vision and Values / 2. Create Two-Way Communication / 3. Surround Yourself with Smart People / 4. Execute Difficult Decisions / 5. Hold People Accountable.

It is important to have a clear vision for your businesses’ success. Recently Blabber Duckie visited a Rainmaker Lunch launch on the west side of Indianapolis. During this launch the Rainmaker Genie also visited. Well Jack Klemeyer might not be an actual genie but he is one of those leaders due in part to the five crucial steps listed above. Most business owners and entrepreneurs don’t know the first thing about effectively and efficiently growing their business. It’s hard to imagine, but it’s true. And often this lack of growing their business is the leader not understanding the five crucial steps it takes to be a great leader plus the lack of a vision.
